Refunds, deposits, and date changes

These rules cover the Validator Desk, the Circle Workshop, the Stake Reading Hour, and a quoted group morning at the Cognit Spindle reading room in Namyangju. They match a teaching appointment paid in Korean won. Write refund requests to hello@cognitspindle.click or call 0313665660 during open hours.

Eligibility

A refund applies to fees you have paid for a sitting that is cancelled in time, cancelled by the room, or cut short for a reason on the room’s side. Attendance, a late cancel, and a no-show follow the timings below. The person who paid, or the person named on the booking, may request the refund.

Timeframe and how much comes back

Cancel seven or more full days before the sitting and the deposit and any balance already paid are refunded in full. Cancel between three and six full days before the sitting and half of the deposit is refunded; any balance paid above the deposit is refunded in full. Cancel inside 72 hours of the start time and the deposit is kept; a balance paid in advance is refunded except for the deposit portion. A no-show is treated as a cancellation inside 72 hours.

If the room cancels

If Cognit Spindle cancels because a reader is ill, the road to Sudong-myeon is closed, or the room cannot open, you receive a full refund of the deposit and any balance, or a move to another date if you prefer. The choice is yours, confirmed by email.

Rescheduling

You may move a confirmed sitting once, without losing the deposit, when you ask at least 72 hours before the original start. A second move, or a move inside 72 hours, is treated as a cancellation under the timings above and a new booking. Saturday circle seats can move only into a circle that still has room.

After a sitting has started

If you end the appointment early, the fee for the time underway is kept and the unused remainder is refunded only when more than half the booked time is still left. If the reader stops the sitting because the room must close, the unused minutes are refunded in proportion to the time left. Work already done — the portion of the worksheet already taught — is the portion that has been delivered.

Materials and deposits

Printed worksheets and tea are included in the sitting fee. There is no separate materials charge to refund. The 30 percent holding deposit is part of the fee, not a gratuity, and it follows the cancellation timings in this page. Group quotes use the same deposit percentage unless the written quote states another figure before you pay.

Method and processing time

Refunds return by the method you used to pay. A bank transfer is reversed to the same account. Cash payments are refunded by transfer once you send account details, or in cash at the room if you prefer to collect them. Processing takes up to ten business days after we confirm the amount, plus the time your bank needs to show the credit.

Exceptions

These rules are for study appointments in the reading room. They do not describe shipping, software subscriptions, or goods, because the business does not sell those. A date moved at your request under the reschedule rule is not also refunded for the original day. Korean consumer rules that cannot be waived still apply alongside this page.
